In
Hypothyroidism the thyroid gland is unable to make enough thyroid hormone. It
is also called underactive thyroid disease.
Generally in
this disease the symptoms become visible little by little. Sometimes it takes
over months or years. There are many symptoms such as skin becomes dry, face
becomes puffy, muscles become weak, losing hair, gaining much weight, heart
rate becomes slow, filling pain in joints, memory problems and more. These are
the early and common symptoms of hypothyroidism.
Losing taste
and smell, slower speech, lessening of eyebrows; these are the symptoms which
appear lately.
Mainly the
symptoms of hypothyroidism depend on patient’s age and how long he is suffering
from it. In case of children and teens the symptoms are different such as
changes in behavior and performance in school. The rate of growth is very slow
and the teens look much younger than their age.
Myxedema is
an advance hypothyroidism. It is rare but it is very dangerous.
You should
treat it before it get worse.
